      B. VirtualBox

      C. VMware

      A. Install Ubuntu in Windows 10 using Hyper-V for Ehpc Panel

To install Ubuntu in Windows 10 using Hyper-V for Ehpc Panel, you can follow these steps:

      1. Enable Hyper-V on Windows 10:
        • Open “Control Panel” and click on “Programs.”
        • Under “Programs and Features,” click on “Turn Windows features on or off.”
        • Find “Hyper-V” in the list, check the box next to it, and click “OK.”
        • Windows will install the necessary components and may prompt you to restart your computer.
      2. Download Ubuntu ISO:
        • Go to the official Ubuntu website (https://ubuntu.com/download) and download the latest version of Ubuntu as an ISO file.
      3. Create a Virtual Machine in Hyper-V:
        • Press “Win + S” to open the Windows Search bar, then type “Hyper-V Manager” and open it.
        • In Hyper-V Manager, click on “Action” in the menu, and then “New” > “Virtual Machine.”
        • The Virtual Machine Wizard will open. Click “Next.”
        • Give your virtual machine a name and choose a location for its files. Click “Next.”
        • Assign memory (RAM) to the virtual machine. The recommended minimum for Ubuntu is 2GB, but you can allocate more if your system has enough resources. Click “Next.”
        • Choose “Connection” as “Default Switch” (or any other network connection you prefer). Click “Next.”
        • Select “Use an existing virtual hard disk” and browse to the location where you want to store the virtual machine’s files.
        • If you haven’t created a virtual hard disk yet, click “New” and create a virtual hard disk with at least 20GB of space (or more if you have enough disk space). Click “Next” when done.
        • Review the settings and click “Finish” to create the virtual machine.
        • Or please see my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8j845NszzA&t=123s
      4. Configure the Virtual Machine:
        • In Hyper-V Manager, right-click on the virtual machine you just created and choose “Settings.”
        • In the left pane of the settings window, click on “Processor” and adjust the number of virtual processors according to your system’s capabilities. One or two virtual processors are usually sufficient for Ubuntu.
        • Click on “Display” in the left pane and increase the “Screen resolution” if needed.
        • In the left pane, click on “Security” and make sure “Secure Boot” is unchecked as it might cause issues with Ubuntu installation.
        • Close the “Settings” window.
      5. Install Ubuntu on the Virtual Machine:
        • Right-click on the virtual machine in Hyper-V Manager and select “Connect.”
        • The virtual machine will start, and the “Connect” window will appear.
        • Click on “Start” to power on the virtual machine and then click on the “Connect” button to open the virtual machine’s console.
        • The virtual machine will boot from the Ubuntu ISO you downloaded earlier.
        • Follow the regular Ubuntu installation process. Choose your language, keyboard layout, and installation options.
        • When prompted, select “Install Ubuntu” and follow the on-screen instructions to install Ubuntu on the virtual machine.
        • After the installation completes, reboot the virtual machine.
      6. Install Ehpc Panel (if applicable):
        • Once Ubuntu is installed on the virtual machine, you can proceed with installing the Ehpc Panel software following its specific installation instructions.

That’s it! You now have Ubuntu installed on a virtual machine using Hyper-V on Windows 10. Remember to install the necessary updates and security patches for Ubuntu, especially if it will be used as a production environment.
